With a message on Instagram, Rob Zombie (House of 1000 Bodies, House of the Devil) shared a new photo from the set of The Munsters. This is an image of actor Joe Garcia as Floop, a new character namely Dr. Wolfgang's hunchbacked assistant as well as friend of Herman Munster.
Targeted by Universal, The munsters is the film adaptation of the CBS horror sitcom of the same name that debuted in the US in 1964.
In addition to Joe Garcia, the cast includes Richard Brake (31, Mandy, 3 from Hell), Sheri Moon Zombie, Jeff Daniel Phillips, and Dan Roebuck. The latter play Dr. Wolfgang, Lily Munster, Herman Munster, and Grandpa Munster, respectively.
The Munsters does not yet have a release date.
Composed of two seasons, of 38 and 32 episodes each, The Munsters originated as a TV series in the 1960s and tells the story of a monster family that leaves Transylvania and moves to an American suburb.
The members of this strange family are: father Herman, a sort of Frankenstein's creature; mother Lily, a vampire modeled after the famous The Wife of Frankenstein; grandfather, a vampire dressed in the "classic" outfit made famous by Bela Lugosi; werewolf son Eddie Wolfgang; and granddaughter Marilyn, the only "normal" person in the family.
Several films have been made over the years and also the sequel television series Monsters 20 years later (1988).
