The Mummy, the new film from Universal Pictures, enjoys two official photos capturing Sofia Boutella (here as Queen Ahmanet) and Tom Cruise (a former Special Forces soldier).

Plot: An ancient Queen Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella), whose body has lain for millennia in a crypt buried in the desert, is awakened in the present day. Taken from life too soon and unjustly, the creature will unleash hell on earth by externalizing all the hatred and wickedness accumulated over time.
The screenplay is co-written by Jon Spaihts and Christopher McQuarrie.
The cast includes Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Russell Crowe, Chasty Ballesteros, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Javier Botet, Noof McEwan and Marwan Kenzari.
Director Alex Kurtzman also appears in the film as a producer along with Chris Morgan and Sean Daniel.
The release date is set for June 9, 2017.
