On today's date Spikerot Records initiated the pre-order of the soundtrack of the The Demon's Mask (1960), Mario Bava's masterpiece and official debut. With this cult film that influenced entire generations of filmmakers, Mario Bava laid the foundations of the Italian Gothic and brought to the screen a story that combines curses, witchcraft and vampirism. Cast in a claustrophobic, macabre atmosphere thick with religious symbolism, the film stars British actress Barbara Steele, here in a dual role that guaranteed her success.
Spikerot Records is proud to present its next release namely the soundtrack remastered from the original tapes of The Demon's Mask (aka Black Sunday). Composed by Roberto Nicolosi, the soundtrack will be available for the first time entirely on physical format (LP).
The album includes 20 previously unreleased tracks, liner notes written by Lamberto Bava and is housed inside a deluxe gatefold steele (cover that opens on multiple sides) with a die-cut slipcase on which is artwork by SoloMacello.
The original soundtrack The Demon's Mask is limited to 500 copies and is available in two color variants:
– ASA'S REVENGE (Purple/Black Aside/Bside) - limited to 100 copies + folding poster and an exclusive card (exclusive to Spikerot.com);
– KATIA'S CURSE. (Bone) - limited to 400 copies
Spikerot Records offers the edition with or without a T-Shirt and also gives the opportunity to purchase the T-shirt inspired by the famous film separately.
