Eagle Pictures has released a first clip in Italian of The Lodge, the horror thriller coming to theaters on Jan. 16.
The film is written and directed by Austrians Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz, the acclaimed directors of Goodnight Mommy and the episode "The Sinful Women of Höllfall" featured in the horror anthology The Field Guide to Evil.
Plot: After his wife commits suicide, Richard (Richard Armitage) decides to spend the Christmas vacation at his mountain chalet with his two children Aidan (Jaeden Martell) and Mia (Lia McHugh) and new partner Grace (Riley Keough). A sudden engagement will force the man to return to town for a night, creating an opportunity for the girl to become acquainted with the two children.
Once left alone, a terrible nightmare will begin for the three.
In the cast of The Lodge there are Richard Armitage (The Hobbit), Riley Keough (Jack's House), Jaeden Martell ("It" by Andy Muschietti), Lia McHugh and Alicia Silverstone (The Sacred Deer Sacrifice).
The film premiered at the 37th Turin Film Festival in the non-competitive "After Hours" section dedicated to genre cinema.
