Plot of The Little StrangerDr. Faraday (Domhnall Gleeson) is a country doctor of humble origins and the owner of a mansion where he practices his profession. During the long, hot summer of 1947, the doctor is called to treat a patient at Hundreds Hall, an 18th-century estate now in ruins. That house, where his mother once worked as a maid, had been home to the Ayres family for over two centuries. When Dr. Faraday takes charge of his new patient, the history of the estate's former owners becomes inexorably intertwined with his own.
