The new poster of The Lighthouse, the horror film with fantasy overtones written and directed by Robert Eggers, the director of the acclaimed The VVitch (USA, UK, Canada - 2015). The film stars Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, here as two lighthouse keepers.
Shot in 35mm, black and white, The Lighthouse had its world premiere at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival in the "Directors' Fortnight," where it was awarded Best Film.
The Lighthouse will arrive in U.S. theaters on Oct. 18 while the Italian release date remains unknown.
The story is based on the terrifying legends of the sea and desolate lighthouses and takes place during the early 1900s on a remote New England island.
The main characters are Thomas (Willem Dafoe) and Ephraim (Robert Pattinson), two lighthouse keepers who lead lives isolated from the rest of the world. In time, however, obsessions and madness will take over, turning the two men against each other.
In the cast of The Lighthouse, in addition to Robert Pattinson ("Twilight") and Willem Dafoe ("Antichrist," "Daybreakers - The Last Vampire"), there is also Valeriia Karaman.
The screenplay is by Robert Eggers and Max Eggers.
