The dead come back to life in The Lazarus Effect, genre film written by Luke Dawson and Jeremy Slater, and directed by David Gelb. Olivia Wilde (Turistas), Evan Peters (American Horror Story), Mark Duplass, Donald Glover, Sarah Bolger, and Emily Kelavos make up the cast.
As in the cult film Re-Animator (1985) by Stuart Gordon, in The Lazarus Effect a method for reanimating corpses is being tested. It involves a serum that, when injected into dead tissue, is able to regenerate cells and thus bring the 
deceased subject. The experiment succeeds on a dog, and the serum is also tested for the first time on a human subject, in this case Zoe (Olivia Wilde), one of the researchers who passes away following a laboratory accident. The woman whose life is restored, however, will never be the same again....
The U.S. theatrical release date for the film is set for February 27, 2015.
