La Play Pals Toys decides to put the doll back on the market. Type Beautiful eight years later. Chucky is reconstructed from the remnants of his body. Back to life, after killing the owner of the business, he discovers that Andy (Justin Whalin) has enrolled in a military academy and joins him...
A Full Metal Jacket as a version killer doll: the horror element is still dominant but there is no shortage of macabre comedy gimmicks that will be basic in later chapters.
Chucky's faithful will still have fun, and the main news is that Andy is now, by a series of circumstances, no longer essential to the doll: Chucky now has a new "body" to protect and the boy will have to save himself from his murderous rampage.
A few good side characters, such as the psychotic barber (Andrew Robinson) and Andy's girlfriend, contribute to the decent, but nothing more, end result.
World takings are not exciting, and for seven years there were no more sequels.
