Online new images and poster of The Inhabitants (USA - 2015), a supernatural thriller-horror written and directed by Michael and Shawn Rasmussen, the screenwriters of The Ward by John Carpenter. The film, currently in post-production, was shot in New England in an old and well-known house, the "Noyes-Parris House" in Salem, Massachusetts, a home built in 1790. The builder's daughter became the second wife of Reverend Samuel Parris, one of the most prominent figures in the Salem witch trials.
The history of the obscure mansion and the possibility of exploiting it for filming prompted filmmakers to use it as a location. The Inhabitants is not inspired by actual events but uses the atmosphere, the past of the "Noyes-Parris House" and the place where it is located as cues for a highly evocative horror story. In fact, the story focuses on a vengeful witch, missing children and the curse attached to the house.
Abstract: A young couple buys an old bed and breakfast (the "Noyes-Parris House") to rent out to tourists. A sinister presence, however, will plague and terrorize the woman, disrupting her life.
The cast includes Elise Couture Stone, Michael Reed, India Pearl, Erica Derrickson, Edmund Donovan, Vasilios Asimakos, Rebecca Whitehurst, Danny Bryck and Judith Chaffee.
Glenn Cooper, a well-known U.S. writer of novels including "The Library of the Dead Trilogy" ("The Library of the Dead," "The Book of Souls," and "The Keepers of the Library") and then again "The Map of Destiny," "The Devil's Mark," "The Last Day," and "Damned," appears in the production of the film.
The Inhabitants also meant to be an homage to the haunted house movies of the 1970s-80s such as The Changeling.
