IFC Films has released the new trailer for The House that Jack Built, the new film written and directed by Lars Von Trier (Melancholia, Nymphomaniac). Premiered at the Cannes Film Festival (shocking audiences in the theater), this horror thriller promises to be the Danish director's most brutal film yet. The House That Jack Built will debut in U.S. theaters on Dec. 14, 2018, while in Italy it will arrive in the fall with Videa.

The film stars Matt Dillon, here playing the role of a heinous serial killer (a figure inspired by "Jack the Ripper") and sheds light on five murders he carried out.
Plot: United States, 1970. Jack (Matt Dillon) is an engineer who is under the spell of death after killing a woman he rescued on the street. The event will lead the man to commit more murders to achieve perfection by collecting more macabre "works of art." The goal is to achieve his greatest masterpiece that is, a collection of all his murders inside a house he built himself.

In the cast of The House That Jack Built: Matt Dillon, Uma Thurman (Kill Bill), Riley Keough, Ed Speleers (Howl, Love Bite), Siobhan Fallon Hogan, Bruno Ganz, Sofie Gråbøl, David Bailie and Ji-tae Yu. The film's story is by Jenle Hallund.
The House That Jack Built is a co-production between Germany, France, Sweden and Denmark.
The film is produced by Lars Von Trier's Zentropa Entertainments in collaboration with Copenhagen Film Fund.
