Due giorni fa, negli Stati Uniti, è stata proiettata la versione director's cut di The House that Jack Built without a censorship visa, an action that would violate MPAA regulations.
Il comunicato di MPAA spiega infatti che "la proiezione del film senza visto censura né permesso speciale a distanza così ravvicinata dalla distribuzione (14 dicembre) viola le regole del sistema di classificazione. La mancata adesione alle regole rende inefficace il sistema di classificazione e pertanto prevede l’imposizione di sanzioni contro il distributore”.
Per questa manovra pubblicitaria, IFC Films non solo rischia di ricevere una multa ed essere sospesa dal sistema di classificazione per tre mesi ma MPAA potrebbe anche revocare il visto censura del film con conseguente sospensione dell'uscita in sala.

Plot: United States, 1970. Jack (Matt Dillon) is an engineer who is under the spell of death after killing a woman he rescued on the street. The event will lead the man to commit more murders to achieve perfection by collecting more macabre "works of art." The goal is to achieve his greatest masterpiece that is, a collection of all his murders inside a house he built himself.
