Performed by Daniele Arturi, The House Guest (link to review) is a ghost story with clear references to 1980s cinema (Lucio Fulci, Pupi Avati and Frank Henenlotter) in which there is no shortage of practical effects by Domiziano Cristopharo himself. The latter was also in charge of photography, soundtrack and also wrote the screenplay together with Andrea Cavaletto, an Italian cartoonist and screenwriter with whom the director has already collaborated on other films (Doll Syndrome, The Transparent Woman, Xpiation).
Plot: Daniel is a lonely student who moves into a new apartment where strange phenomena lead him to believe that the suicide of the previous tenant was caused by the presence of a very vengeful ghost.
