THE PROJECT:
The Horror Tour was born in 2019 from the need to tell the story of Italian horror cinema and culture in an in-depth but decidedly personal way.
It is an episodic format that proposes the viewer to take part in a journey that investigates the world of Italian horror culture in 360 degrees: from independent to mainstream film productions, from music to literature to comics.
But that's not enough, because to the normal in-depth documentary structure, with interviews and archive material, Il Giro dell'Horror alternates fictional scenes starring the staff of filmmakers authors of the project [Luca Ruocco, creator and screenwriter; Paolo Gaudio, director] and with the episode guests... conjugated in comedy, including important moments of animation and puppets! Because horror can also be laughed at and, above all, because through these meta-filmic digressions, a horizontal narrative line will be able to be created that will unite all the episodes and, even more, because through this unaccustomed way, unprecedented edges of the personalities of the episode guests protagonists can be discovered.
The exciting journey of discovery of the made-in-Italy horror culture is set on the mechanism of switching from one protagonist to another on that of the famous "challenges" very fashionable on social and the web.
