A71 Entertainment has acquired the Canadian rights to distribute the The Heretics (Canada - 2017), the horror film about pagan cults directed by Chad Archibald (The Drownsman, Bite). The aforementioned distribution company, in collaboration with Breakthrough Entertainment and Black Fawn Distribution, will also handle the release of the film (Home Video), in early 2018.
On the occasion of the theatrical release in Canada also, a new poster was released, which you can find at the bottom of the article. The Heretics In fact, it will debut in theaters on November 1, 2017, thanks to A71.
Plot: Gloria (Nina Kiri) is kidnapped by a stranger (Ry Barrett) who claims to want to protect her, until dawn, from a dangerous cult that is hunting her. During the hours with her captor, however, the young woman becomes seriously ill. Only time will reveal the true origin of her illness (the final stage of which is not death but mutation).
The screenplay for the film is by Jayme Laforest (Bite). The cast includes: Nina Kiri, Ry Barrett (The Drownsman), Jorja Cadence, Will King, Nina Richmond, Rachel Sellan, Caleigh Le Grand, Austin Duffy, and Sid McMillan.
The Heretics is produced by Black Fawn Films (Antisocial, The Sublet, Let Her Out) and was distributed in other countries by Breakthrough Entertainment.
The film had its world premiere at the Canadian Film Fest in Toronto (2017).
