Tha Hallow (aka The Woods), the body horror that blurs into possession, today enjoys a dark poster and an engaging official trailer in which we can enjoy brief hints of a dog's transformation. The film is written and directed by Corin Hardy, one of the directors who dropped out of the The Raven, while Joseph Mawle, Bojana Novakovic, Michael McElhatton, Gary Lydon, Luc Walsh and Michael Smiley make up the cast.
The Hallow presents itself as a siege film with demonic creatures, possessions and bodily transformations reminiscent of Demons, The House and The Thing.
An isolated forest located in an unspecified part of Ireland terrifies the neighboring villagers, who believe an ancient evil lurks in the land. An English environmentalist, however, moves with his wife and infant son to the very desecrated spot in order to examine the land where they plan to build in the future. The presence of the man and his family, however, will unleash demonic forces that had been dormant until then.
The Hallow (Great Britain - 2015), which incidentally is a veteran of the Sundance Film Festival, will be released on U.S. soil in November 2015 at a date to be determined.
