È online un'altra immagine ufficiale dell'horror sovrannaturale The Grudge (U.S., Canada - 2020), the new chapter in the saga that will debut in U.S. theaters on January 3, 2020 with Rated R.
Produced by Sam Raimi with his Ghost House Pictures and based on a screenplay by Jeff Buhler (Midnight Meat Train, Pet Sematary), The Grudge is written and directed by Nicolas Pesce, the director of The Eyes of My Mother and Piercing.
The film is the reboot of the American franchise The Grudge, whose first chapter (remake of the Japanese horror film Ju-on: The Grudge) features Takashi Shimizu as director.
In The Grudge, Andrea Riseborough plays a policewoman who moves to a new city in the United States. Here she will come across a seemingly inexplicable case that will lead her to a house dominated by "resentment."
According to what Nicolas Pesce revealed in an interview, the story of this new chapter takes place simultaneously with that of the 2004 film starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as a social worker who moves to Japan for a cultural exchange.
In addition to Andrea Riseborough (Oblivion, Mandy), the cast includes Lin Shaye (Insidious), Demian Bichir (The Nun), John Cho (The Exorcist), Betty Gilpin, William Sadler (The Mist), Jacki Weaver, and Frankie Faison.
