Su Twitter, A24 promuove The Green Knight con due spot incentrati sul colore verde: "Il verde si spargerà ovunque" e "Il verde fiorirà sotto la pelle". Sullo stesso social, il regista Edgar Wright (L'alba dei morti dementi, Ultima notte a Soho) elogia il film condividendo un altro spot.
Interpretato da Dev Patel (The Millionaire), il fantasy horror The Green Knight è scritto e diretto da David Lowery (Storia di un fantasma) e debutterà nelle sale USA il 30 luglio 2021 distribuito da A24. Al momento non è stata annunciata alcuna data di uscita italiana.
The film has been billed as an epic fantasy adventure based on timeless Arthurian legends and featuring echoes of 1980s cinema. The Green Knight infatti è ispirato ai miti arturiani, in particolar modo a "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight", il poema cavalleresco risalente al tardo XIV secolo e che narra l’avventura di Galvano, un cavaliere appartenente alla Tavola Rotonda.
The protagonist of the story is Gawain (Dev Patel), the reckless and headstrong grandson of King Arthur as well as a knight of the Round Table. To give a demonstration of his courage and strength to his family and kingdom, the loyal young man will hunt down the Green Knight, a giant warrior with emerald skin. Galvanus will battle ghosts, giants, and thieves in what will become a deep and treacherous journey that will bring him up against a very strong and dangerous foe in the final duel.
The cast of The Green Knight è composto da Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider – 2018), Joel Edgerton (It comes at Night), Barry Keoghan (Il sacrificio del cervo sacro), Ralph Ineson (The VVitch), Sarita Choudhury (Lady in the Water), Sean Harris (Prometheus) e Kate Dickie (The Witch).

I was lucky enough to see David Lowery’s hypnotic ‘The Green Knight’ on a big screen recently & am already planning a return visit when it is released this month.
