Dev Patel (The Millionaire) compare nel nuovo poster di The Green Knight, il film fantasy horror scritto e diretto da David Lowery (Storia di un fantasma).
The Green Knight debutterà nelle sale cinematografiche USA il 30 luglio 2021 distribuito da A24 e sarà vietato ai minori per violenza, nudità e contenuto sessuale. Al momento non è stata annunciata alcuna data di uscita italiana.
Il film è stato presentato come un’epica avventura fantasy basata sulle intramontabili leggende arturiane e in cui sono presenti echi del cinema anni ’80. The Green Knight infatti è ispirato ai miti arturiani, in particolar modo a “Sir Gawain e il Cavaliere Verde", the chivalric poem dating back to the late 14th century and recounting the adventure of Gawain, a knight belonging to the Round Table.
The protagonist of the story is Gawain (Dev Patel), the reckless and headstrong grandson of King Arthur as well as a knight of the Round Table. To give a demonstration of his courage and strength to his family and kingdom, the loyal young man will hunt down the Green Knight, a giant warrior with emerald skin. Gawain will battle ghosts, giants, and thieves in what will become a deep and treacherous journey that will bring him face to face with a very strong and dangerous foe in the final duel.
In the cast of The Green Knight figurano anche Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider – 2018), Joel Edgerton (It comes at Night), Barry Keoghan (Il sacrificio del cervo sacro), Ralph Ineson (The VVitch), Sarita Choudhury (Lady in the Water), Sean Harris (Prometheus) e Kate Dickie (The Witch).
