Pierce and inspired by the “Moonlight Murders” committed by a serial killer in Texarkana, Texas, whose case remains unsolved. Pierce was a native of the area, so he decided to dedicate a film to the ferocious killer who was never identified. The killer was accused of murdering eight people over a ten-week period in 1946. According to some witnesses of the first attack, the man wore a white mask, which is why he was called the “Ghost of Texarkana.”.

Below are the first images in circulation of La città che temeva il tramonto with the serial killer whose face is covered with a white cloth mask. The film is directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (American Horror Story), while Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wrote the screenplay (Carrie - The Look of Satan of 2013).

Addison Timlin plays a young girl who survives an attack by the Texarkana Ghost. Her testimony will provide clues that could help the police identify the serial killer.
