Anticipated by one week the release date of The Forever Purge, the fifth and final chapter in the saga started in 2013 with The night of judgment and continued with the sequels Anarchy - Judgment Night (2014) and Judgment Night - Election Year (2016) and with the prequel The first night of judgment (2018).
The film will debut in U.S. theaters on July 2 rather than July 9.
Produced by Blumhouse Productions in collaboration with Platinum Dunes and Universal Pictures, The Forever Purge is directed by Everardo Gout (Days of Grace) on a script penned by James DeMonaco, the creator of the franchise The Purge as well as the screenwriter of the other chapters and the director of the first three.
The film received a Rating R for "strong/bloody violence and language."
The story of this concluding chapter takes place after the events of the Judgment Night - Election Year (2016) and stars Adela (Ana de la Reguera) and Juan (Tenoch Huerta), two young people who, having escaped the Mexican cartel, find refuge on a Texas ranch. The situation will get worse when, during the Outburst, a group of strangers continue to break any rules even after the allotted time limit (12 hours).
The cast includes Ana de la Reguera, Tenoch Huerta, Leven Rambin, Will Patton, Cassidy Freeman, and Ana de la Reguera.
