collectorA group of young prisoners are brought to an old disused hotel to do "community work," that is, refurbish it.
Soon the hotel's "guests" notice that they are not the only ones there, and that in addition to the guard officers who have them in custody and the hotel manager, along with them is a homicidal maniac with a particular quirk: gouging out his victims' eyes before killing them.
The continuation of the film is a foregone conclusion: who will survive the killer's murderous rampage?

Gregory Dark, a director often engaged in hard or otherwise "X-rated" films, tries his hand at this horror film without particularly risking anything.
Starting from the plot, nothing groundbreaking, to the characterizations of the characters (there is the classic little couple just looking for a place to mate, the bully on duty who in the end turns out to be better than he seems, to the beautiful and damned who will tickle the killer's fancies) to the dirty and filthy environments that are an integral part of the film.

Glen Jacobs (wrestler known as Kane) lends his face (and especially his physique) to the main character, homicidal maniac Jacob Goodnight.

Revolving around him are actors of "good hope" (???) among whom stands out the "daughter of the art" Samantha Noble (daughter of John, already seen as the "suicide king" Denethor in the Return of the king, the latest chapter in the trilogy of The Lord of the Rings).
The Eye Collector not a masterpiece of the genre but still worth a look especially for some good ideas in the splatter scenes (eyes ripped out of eye sockets always do the trick).
