Definito un horror esorcistico "old school" nella tradizione dei film Hammer e Amicus degli anni '70, The Exorcism of Karen Walker is the first film to explore the concept of Kirlian photography, the photographic technique used to capture the phenomenon of coronal electrical discharges.
Plot: Mitch Walker inherits the house of Alexander, the uncle who had been removed from the family because he had been accused of abusing Karen (Mitch's sister) while dabbling in Kirlian photography. Trapped in a state of somnambulism, the girl had then been locked up in an insane asylum.
Qualche tempo dopo Mitch scopre che in realtà lo zio aveva cercato di aiutare la ragazza perché posseduta da un antico demone. Con l'aiuto della medium Ada Devere, Mitch riporta Karen a casa per un terrificante confronto con l'entità intrappolata dentro di lei.
