Phase 4 Films releases the trailer for The Evil Within, the supernatural horror formerly known as Mine Games. The new title but especially the trailer transforms what seemed to be a classic thriller into a full horror, whose very new poster looks much meaner than the previous one.
The Evil Within will be available on DVD and Video On Demand starting May 6 for the States, while there is no further news for a possible Italian release.
The film is directed by Richard Gray, a young Australian talent so far removed from genre cinema. His is the screenplay co-written with Michele Davis-Gray (Rogue) and Robert Cross, known for his hand in such titlons as Insidious and Saw as far as the soundtrack is concerned.
The Evil Within features an outstanding cast in which the name Briana Evigan, appreciated by genre buffs in S. Darko and Sorority Row, stands out. Also with her are Julianna Guill (Marcus Nispel's Friday the 13th, Altitude and The Apparition) and the Ethan Peck of The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
The Evil Within will present the classic group of friends who plan to spend their vacation in a remote chalet in the forest. After discovering an abandoned mine, they will decide to explore its tunnels to find that a mysterious and dangerous force dwells there.
