The Devil's Dolls, the horror film about handmade rag dolls previously known by the title Worry Dolls, sarà distribuito in quaranta Paesi fra i quali anche l'Italia. Questa è quanto è stato diffuso nelle ultime ore. Il film sarà inoltre presentato al Sitges Film Festival 2016 in Spagna mentre uscirà in DVD e in Blu-ray il 6 dicembre 2016. La data di distribuzione nelle sale americane resta invece fissata al 16 settembre, giorno che coincide con il VOD.
Directed by Padraig Reynolds (Rites of Spring), il film affronta un'antica tradizione guatemalteca ovvero quella delle Worry Dolls, bamboline di stoffa colorata che si dice liberino dalle preoccupazioni chi le possiede. Solitamente venivano regalate ai bambini per assicurare loro un sonno tranquillo.
The story of The Devil's Dolls opens on a Mississipi town haunted by murders committed by a serial killer and unleashing a heinous curse. According to an ancient Guatemalan tradition, local parents give their children cloth dolls to help dispel fears and conciliate sleep. These powerful talismans, however, once belonged to an executioner....
The screenplay is by Danny Kolker and Christopher Wiehl. The two are also producers of the film along with Greg Haggart and director Padraig Reynolds himself.
Ted Ackerley and Greg Root are instead the executive producers.
