Darren Lynn Bousman, the director of three chapters of the saga Saw (Saw II, III and IV), 11-11-11, The Barrens and Mother's Day, continues to pursue the path of the horror musical after directing Repo. The Genetic Opera in 2008 and The Devil's Carnival 2012.
In fact, last September, the filming of The Devil's Carnival: Hallelujah! (United States - 2014), sequel to The Devil's Carnival whose screenwriter and actor Terrance Zdunich he again involved for this new project of his. The latter by the way rejoins the cast and also edited the film's music together with Saar Hendelman.
Unlike the 2012 film whose story takes place in Hell, that of the sequel focuses instead in Heaven, an aesthetically different place from the previous one where the struggle between good and evil will have no respite and will continue in heaven. Here God's agents will be ready to face the enemy in a great battle.
The film includes part of the cast from the first chapter and also from Repo. The Genetic Opera. In fact, the actors will again include the same screenwriter Terrance Zdunich and Paul Sorvino, once again cast in their respective roles as Lucifer and God. They are joined by Emilie Autumn, Barry Bostwick, Adam Pascal, Ted Neeley, Nivek Ogre, Briana Evigan, Tech N9ne and David Hasselhoff.
The U.S. release date for the film is scheduled for 2015. Episode 3 of the saga is already in the works.
