The new official poster for The Conjuring 2, the sequel to L'Evocazione which James Wan directed in 2013. The film will be released in Italian theaters next July 7 (thanks to Warner Bros.), about a month after the U.S. release (June 10).
For the screenplay, in addition to the director, Carey and Chad Hayes (remake The Mask of Wax) and David Leslie Johnson (the screenwriter of Orphan and Blood Red Riding Hood) collaborated.
As with the first chapter, the story in the sequel is inspired by real events related to the cases faced by Mr. and Mrs. Warren. In The Conjuring 2 - L'Evocazione, the Warren demonologists (played again by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) face a new case of demonic possession involving two English sisters from Enfield. Janet (Madison Wolfe), in particular, seems to be manifesting the most obvious symptoms.
In addition to Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, the cast is completed by Frances O'Connor (The Missing), Madison Wolfe, Lauren Esposito, Patrick McAuley, Benjamin Haigh, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Simon Delaney, Franka Potente, and Simon McBurney.
Instead, Peter Safran and Rob Cowan handled the production of the film.
