Nicolas Cage will star in The Color Out of Space, il nuovo adattamento cinematografico dell'omonimo racconto scritto da H. P. Lovecraft nel 1927.
Produced by SpectreVision and ACE Pictures, The Color Out of Space will be directed by Richard Stanley (Hardware - Metallo letale, Demonic) che torna in cabina di regia a distanza di cinque dal suo ultimo film di genere documentario (L'autre monde).
The story of the film features a family that moves to a remote New England farm. Here they will witness the crash of a meteorite on their land. The wreckage from outer space will contaminate the earth and cause disturbing mutations but not only that.
In addition to Nicolas Cage (recently seen in Mandy), nel cast ci saranno anche Joely Richardson, Tommy Chong, Elliot Knight, Julian Hilliard e Q'Orianka Kilcher.
Proprio Daniel Noah di SpectreVision ha dichiarato che l'obiettivo di The Colour Out of Space Is to pay homage to Lovecraft.
Negli anni sono stati realizzati altri adattamenti cinematografici di "The Color Out of Space" (conosciuto in Italia con il titolo "The color that came from space").
