Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, director and screenwriter, respectively, revealed that The Collected has been abandoned. Marcus Dunstan explained that filming lasted only eight days before the epidemic halted production and that no new scenes would be shot for the past two years. In addition, the producer stopped returning their phone calls.
Patrick Melton, on the other hand, added that despite the eight days of work, one would have to start all over again, confirming that the project is now at a standstill.
The Collected was to be the new chapter in the franchise started by Marcus Dunstan (The Neighbor) in 2009 with The Collector and continued in 2012 with The Collection.
Josh Stewart, Emma Fitzpatrick and Navi Rawat (previously featured in The Collection) were to be in the cast again, along with Randy Havens (Stranger Things), Dot-Marie Jones (3 From Hell) and Tom Atkins (Fog, Dimension Terror).
Directed by The Collected there was Marcus Dunstan, who also wrote the screenplay together with Patrick Melton, the screenwriter of the previous chapters.
Recall that the franchise centers on a macabre collector, a maniac who uses elaborate traps to capture and collect his victims.
