Written and directed by Daniel Farrands, The Amityville Murders is the prequel to Amityville Horror (1979) by Stuart Rosenberg.
The story in this new chapter sheds light on the events leading up to the massacre carried out by young Ronald DeFeo, who exterminated his entire family (parents and four siblings) by gunfire on the night of the distant Nov. 13, 1974. De Feo justified his act by blaming it on the voices of spirits that haunted his home and guided him to carry out the massacre.
In The Amityville Murders, John Robinson (Alcoholic) is Butch DeFeo, the young man who will commit the carnage. Also in the cast are Chelsea Ricketts (The Hole), Paul Ben-Victor (Daredevil), Diane Franklin (Amityville Possession), Noa Brenner, Zane Austin, Kue Lawrence (The Crossbreed), Lainie Kazan, Rebekah Graf, Burt Young, Sky Liam Patterson, and Steve Trzaska.
