It is entitled The Advent Calendar (aka Le Calendrier), the French Christmas horror film about an ancient, diabolical advent calendar whose influence will turn the life of a girl with paraplegia upside down. A trailer and some images are available of the film.
The Advent Calendar is written and directed by Patrick Ridremont and will be released in France and the U.S. in December.
Plot: Eva (Eugénie Derouand) is a former swimming champion who has been confined to a wheelchair for three years because she is paraplegic. When her friend Sophie gives her an antique advent calendar for her birthday, the young woman will realize that each window contains not the traditional treats but a series of positive and, more importantly, negative surprises with serious and terrifying real-life repercussions.
Before Christmas Eve, Eve will have to decide whether to get rid of the calendar or accept its evil gifts in order to fulfill her dream.
