The Accursed (2022), the new horror film written by Rob Kennedy (Midnight Man) and directed by Kevin Lewis (Willy's Wonderland), will be distributed by Screen Media market USA) this fall. This is reported by Deadline.
The Accursed is a horror film about demonic possession that sheds light on the weak relationship between mother and daughter and black magic.
The film stars Mena Suvari (American Beauty), Sarah Grey (iZombie - TV series), Alexis Knapp (Grace - Possessed), Meg Foster (They Live), Sarah Dumont (Scout's Handbook for the Zombie Apocalypse) and Sherman Augustus (Virus).
Plot: when her estranged mother commits suicide, Elly (Sarah Grey) is forced to quit her nursing job and return home. The girl is determined to start a new life but is haunted by terrifying visions of her missing parent. Consumed by guilt, Elly accepts a job offer from Alma (Mena Suvari) as a temporary caregiver to the comatose Mrs. Ambrose (Meg Foster).
Alma, however, has more in mind for Elly and confronts Mary Lynn (Knapp), a witch hunter determined to unleash the demonic curse that has plagued her family for generations.
Elly will realize that she has been lured into the house with false motives when she discovers that Mrs. Ambrose has established a connection with her mother's spirit through black magic.
The Accursed is produced by Marcus Englefield and George Lee for Storyoscopic Films.
