A girl is badly chased out of the "brothel" at which she works. She then repairs to an isolated and quaint Motel: its proprietor is obsessed with crocodiles and keeps one in the nearby fenced-in swamp.
The man, a Vietnam veteran, is actually insane and within the same night he rapes, kills and feeds the poor girl to the alligator.
Meanwhile, the father, suffering from an incurable disease, sets out to find the girl--and comes to stay overnight in the very same motel.
Late in the evening a family, consisting of parents and daughter, also arrives...
It begins, for the unsuspecting guests, a night of hell...
Tobe Hooper's second major horror film of similar thickness to Don't Open That Door.
The film is all about the figure of this mad killer and, for 90 minutes, keeps the tension constantly high.
Of note is the presence of Robert Englund, who would later become famous as Freddy Krueger.
