After enjoying considerable success at the box office, the horror slasher Thanksgiving (USA - 2023) will have a sequel to be released in 2025. This was announced by Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel, The Green Inferno) himself with a video message posted on Instagram.
Thanksgiving is the cinematic extension of the fake trailer of the same name featured in Grindhouse - Death Proof (2007) by Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez and was released in Italian theaters on November 16.
Plot: The small town of Plymouth, Massachusetts, is shocked by a tragedy that occurred in a shopping mall during Black Friday. Exactly one year later, during Thanksgiving celebrations, a mysterious serial killer begins killing locals following a specific plan for revenge.
Soon, the murders will turn out to be part of a terrible plan related to the famous holiday.
In the cast: Addison Rae, Patrick Dempsey (Grey's Anatomy, Lethal Virus, Scream 3), Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, Milo Manheim (Zombies), Gina Gershon (Chucky), Tim Dillon and Rick Hoffman (Hostel).
The screenplay was written by Jeff Rendell in collaboration with Eli Roth. The latter also appears in the production of the film along with Roger Birnbaum.
