After directing American Guinea Pig: Sacrifice (2017), the Italian performer, actress and director Poison Rouge directs Tetromaniac: 61 - Scorecard Killer (2021), an extreme horror film loosely inspired by the murders committed by the American Randy Steven Kraft.
TetroManiac: 61 – Scorecard Killer is the new TETROMANIAC film (after eROTik and Confessioni di una necrofila), an extreme series created by TetroVideo and dedicated to the ferocious serial killers who have occupied the darkest corners of crime history.
Known as the “Scorecard Killer”, the murderer born in 1945 to whom this film is dedicated is currently on death row, accused of having tortured, raped and killed 16 boys/men between 1972 and 1983, and is suspected of being responsible for the deaths of another 51 male victims.
The man became known as the “Scorecard Killer” because, at the time of his arrest, investigators found a coded list with cryptic references and an envelope containing over 50 photographs of his victims, dead or sleeping, in pornographic positions.
Drawing on the story of this murky character, Poison Rouge offers the audience a chilling fictionalized version of his brutality and modus operandi, focusing on a single murder case in which the killer, played by an excellent Roberto Scorza, unleashes his most twisted and unhealthy fantasies on a young victim.
Like a magnifying glass focused on pain, TetroManiac: 61 – Scorecard Killer becomes a concentration of almost unbearable humiliations and torture carried out inside a car. This, the only location aside from the road, becomes the victim's tomb, a suffocating space (also for the viewer) in which Randy Kraft, with sadism, ravages the unfortunate victim's body.
SPOILER START: “The beatings are followed by unimaginable torture (especially to the intimate parts) using simple everyday objects that are no less dangerous for that: a car cigarette lighter, a broken pencil, a napkin, a can lid.” SPOILER END.
All of it is used by Randy Kraft with meticulous and unheard-of madness, made even more shocking by sharp close-ups that capture an almost tangible horror, while the carefully crafted cinematography highlights the precision of its details.
In TetroManiac: 61 - Scorecard Killer, the victim's delusions and the perpetrator's flashbacks outline the psychological background of the two protagonists, defining fragile profiles trapped in a dimension locked in deep psychophysical suffering.
This is undoubtedly a film well anchored in extreme cinema, a subgenre into which the two filmmakers coldly and skillfully drag a portion of truth and death from the past.
The film is set to be released this month by TetroVideo.
The poster for TetroManiac: 61 – Scorecard Killer was created by well-known Italian cartoonist Claudio Montalbano (Editoriale Aurea, Sergio Bonelli Editore, Éditions Soleil).
