Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman (US - 2021) is the title of the new film about the notorious US criminal executed in the electric chair on January 24, 1989.
Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman is written and directed by Daniel Ferrands (The Amityville Massacre, Sharon Tate - Between Nightmare and Reality), the screenwriter of The girl next door and will shed light on the serial killer's true story by focusing on the murders he committed.
The film will debut in U.S. theaters on August 16 while it will arrive on VOD platforms and on DVD on September 3 with Dark Star Pictures.
Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman stars Chad Michael Murray (The Mask of Wax, Left Behind-The Prophecy) and also features Lin Shaye (Dead End, Insidious) and Diane Franklin (Amityville Possession) in the cast.
Plot: Ted Bundy wanders the highways of a gritty, decadent 1970s America, searching for his next prey. Hot on his trail are two FBI agents, Kathleen McChesney (Holland Roden) and Robert Ressler (Jake Hays), the organizers of the biggest manhunt in history.
Rounding out the cast are Holland Roden (Escape Room 2 - Deadly Game), Jake Hays, Marietta Melrose, Leslie Stratton, Dashiell Connery, Olivia DeLaurentis, Alexandra Scott, Julianne Collins, Gianna Adams, Aly Rae Santos-Tanner, and Jo Beth Locklear.
Ted Bundy (1946 - 1989) would lure his prey near colleges and universities and then rape and kill them. The criminal used to return to the crime scene to have intercourse with the decomposed bodies of his victims and used some anatomical parts (the heads) as trophies.
The man was executed in the electric chair on January 24, 1989. Before his execution, the multiple murderer confessed to being the mastermind of 30 murders carried out between 1974 and 1878.
