Available teaser poster for Insidious Chapter 3, the second sequel to the horror saga, whose first two chapters (Insidious and Insidious 2: Beyond the Twilight Zone.), both directed by James Wan, date back to 2010 and 2013, respectively.
The third chapter marks the directorial debut of Leigh Whannell, who has already participated in the making of the first two chapters both as screenwriter and actor. In fact, in this new sequel Leigh Whannell will not only be directing and screenwriting but will also be part of the cast again playing the role of Specs.
In addition to him will be Lin Shaye (medium Elise Rainier), Steve Coulter (Carl) and Angus Sampson (Tucker), three other characters who have been present since the first chapter. New actors, on the other hand, include Dermot Mulroney, Hayley Kiyoko, Stefanie Scott, Ele Keats and Ashton Moio.
The story of Insidious Chapter 3 breaks away from the Lamberts to focus on another family terrorized by extremely disturbing paranormal phenomena. Whannell himself announced that Insidious: Chapter 3 will be in line with the first chapter but will provide much more heinous implications.
Filming of the film began last July, and the release date will be by FilmDistrict on May 29, 2015.
Production continues to be handled by Jason Blum (Blumhouse) and Oren Peli, who produced the first two films in the series. The executive producers, on the other hand, are Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Steven Schneider, Charles Layton and Xavier Marchand.
