There is talk of the remake of Suspiria (1977) for years now, but just when the project seems doomed to die, here today pops up the name of the director who will take on the daring remake of Argentina's masterpiece. It is Luca Guadagnino, an Italian director currently competing in Venice with A Bigger Splash but who also previously directed Melissa P. e Io sono l'amore, as well as several short films and documentaries.
The director himself apparently confirmed this just yesterday from the Film Festival in which he spoke of a Studio Canal production and filming beginning this winter. No official confirmation on the cast, there is only talk of Isabelle Fuhrman (the little girl in Orphan) and Isabelle Huppert in the role that played Alida Valli.
