Plot: Mr. Faraday (Domhnall Gleeson) practices medicine in his country mansion. During the long, hot summer of 1947, the doctor is called to treat a patient at Hundreds Hall, an 18th-century estate now in ruins. That house, where his mother also once worked as a maid, was home to the Ayres family for more than two centuries. When Dr. Faraday takes charge of the new patient, the history of the estate's former owners will become inexorably intertwined with his own.
