Summer of 84 had its world premiere at this year's Sundance Film Festival and will debut in U.S. theaters on August 10 while it will be available for video on demand two weeks later.
The story of Summer of 84 vede protagonista Davey Armstrong (Graham Verchere), un quindicenne convinto che il suo vicino di casa, un poliziotto, sia il responsabile degli omicidi che hanno sconvolto la città. Con questa inquietante ma allo stesso tempo anche affascinante convinzione, il ragazzo vivrà un'elettrizzante e avventurosa estate del 1984 e, con l’aiuto dei suoi tre migliori amici, inizierà ad investigare sul solitario uomo di legge. L’eccitante ed ingenua missione dei ragazzini però li condurrà a confrontarsi con una realtà molto pericolosa.
The cast of Summer of 84 consists of Graham Verchere (Fargo), Judah Lewis (The Babysitter), Caleb Emery, Tiera Skovbye, Rich Sommer, Cory Gruter-Andrew, Aren Buchholz, Shauna Johannesen, Jason Gray-Stanford, Susie Castillo, J. Alex Brinson, William MacDonald and Harrison Houde.
Shawn Williamson (Brightlight Pictures) and Jameson Parker produced the film while Matt Leslie is the co-producer. The latter co-wrote the screenplay with Stephen J. Smith.
