Brightlight Pictures, Gunpowder & Sky are collaborating together to produce. Summer of '84, the new film directed by the directors of the acclaimed post-apocalyptic splatter Turbo Kid (Canada, New Zealand - 2015): François Simard, Anouk Whissell and Yoann-Karl Whissell.
The trio will take on the direction of a horror thriller in which there will be no shortage of octogenarian atmospheres, just like those of the previous Turbo Kid.
The protagonist of Summer of '84 is Davey Armstrong, a 15-year-old boy convinced that his neighbor, a policeman, is the perpetrator of the murders occurring in his town. With the help of his three best friends, the young man will begin to investigate while encountering a very dangerous truth.
Shawn Williamson (Brightlight Pictures) and Jameson Parker are the producers of the film while Matt Leslie is the co-producer. The latter handled the screenplay for Summer of '84 Together with Stephen J. Smith.
