Nunsploitation returns to the forefront with St. Agatha, l'horror in cui sevizie e crudeltà sono perpetrate da sadiche religiose ai danni dei più deboli. Nel film infatti sono evidenti i topoi di questo sotto filone dei film d'exploitation: l'ambientazione è un convento in cui delle novizie vengono torturate dalle suore oppure delle ragazze in difficoltà sono costrette a prendere i voti contro la loro volontà .
St. Agatha is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, the director of several installments of the horror saga Saw (Saw II - La soluzione dell'enigma, Saw III - L'enigma senza fine, Saw IV). Alla stesura della sceneggiatura invece hanno collaborato Andy Demetrio, Shaun Fletcher, Sara Sometti Michaels e Clint Sears.
Ambientato negli anni '50 in una cittadina della Georgia, St. Agatha features Mary (Sabrina Kerr), a pregnant inmate who escapes only to find refuge in a convent. Convinced that she is in the perfect place to bring her baby into the world, the young woman will have to change her mind when she realizes that she has ended up in a chilling place, guardian of a sick and twisted truth about the people who inhabit it and those who lurk in its corridors.
In the cast of St. Agatha ci sono anche Carolyn Hennesy, Courtney Halverson, Trin Miller, Lindsay Seim, Hannah Fierman (V/H/S - segmento "Amateur Night", SiREN ), Marion Guyot (L'evocazione - The Conjuring), Geoffrey Gould e Seth Michaels.
