Lionsgate has released, online, the official trailer for Spiral: Saw's Legacy (aka Spiral: From the Book of Saw), the newest chapter in the Saw horror saga.
Produced by Mark Burg and Oren Koules, Spiral: Saw's Legacy is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV) and will debut in U.S. theaters on May 14, 2021.
The story is conceived by comedian Chris Rock, who in this project appears not only in the cast but is also an executive producer along with Daniel Heffner and the same creators of Saw That is, James Wan and Leigh Whannell.
Plot: working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash detective Zeke Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner William Schenk (Max Minghella) investigate murders that have brought the city's horrific past to the surface.
Unknowingly ensnared in an ever-deepening mystery, Detective Zeke will find himself caught up in the sick and complicated game of the killer who years earlier sowed terror and death in the city.
In addition to Chris Rock, the cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, The Hateful Eight), Max Minghella (The Black Hour, Horns), Marisol Nichols (Scream 2), Dan Petronijevic, Zoie Palmer, Nazneen Contractor, K.C. Collins and Edie Inksetter.
The screenplay is by Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg (Jigsaw).
