11 p.m. - There is something in the dark. consists of 11 short stories, a number that refers to that of the time in the title (11 p.m.), and is embellished with a preface by Andrea Cavaletto, an Italian screenwriter, cartoonist and graphic designer, best known to the public for his collaboration with Sergio Bonelli Editore as the screenwriter of Dylan Dog and Martin Mystère.
In filmmaking, on the other hand, Andrea Cavaletto has been responsible for the screenplay of several horror and extreme films: Dirty Love, Hidden in The Woods, Doll Syndrome, Beautiful People, Hyde's Secret Nightmare, Xpiation, The Obsessed And many others.
A creepy elderly grandmother, a hallucinating train ride, a trip to the lake in which horror dominates the scene, macabre encounters in an office during a job interview, the exorcism of a condemned man, an imaginary friend who becomes a terrible reality, these are the themes addressed in the stories featured in Sebastiano Tuccitto's anthology.
In the first part of this literary work, the author dusts off the classic figures of the horror genre (zombies, dolls, werewolves, haunted houses, clowns) seasoning everything with good doses of splatter.
These are tales that turn back the clock to when such horrors enriched days in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s.
This is followed by a second part that probes disturbing terrain and veers into the extreme, focusing on strong and brutal themes (cannibalism, rape, violence, exorcisms, sex), in line with what is the author's passion that is horror cinema with particular regard toward extreme independent cinema films.
