
Sleep paralysis is a much-exploited theme in film. In fact, in just a few years, several films have been made about this distressing sleep disorder. To name a few: Horsehead, Echoes, The Nightmare and the recent Dead Awake and Be Afraid.
These titles are now joined by. Slumber (UK -2017), the horror film (currently in post-production) by Jonathan Hopkins, here in his first feature film.
The film stars Maggie Q (The Counting House, Priest), who will play Alice Arnolds, a medical sleep expert.
Plot: A doctor who specializes in treating sleep problems, including sleep paralysis, tries to protect a family from a demon that feeds on its victims during nightmares.
The screenplay of Slumber Is by Jonathan Hopkins and Richard Hobley.
Also in the cast are Sylvester McCoy, Honor Kneafsey, Will Kemp, William Hope, Sam Troughton, Kristen Bush, Susan Fordham, Charlie Bond, Lindy Pieri, Adam Lazarus, and Nick Thomas-Webster.
Slumber sarà distribuito negli States da Vertical Entertainment entro la fine dell'anno.
