Distribution date announced for Honeymoon (for Magnet Releasing), the horror film that marks Leigh Janiak's directorial debut and had its premiere at SXSW 2014. Honeymoon will be available on iTunes, video on demand and also in U.S. theaters on September 12 this year.
Playing the protagonist Bea is Rose Leslie, already seen and appreciated in the TV series Game of Thrones where she plays Ygritte, a young warrior belonging to the Norse people of the Wildlings. Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful, The Disappeared) instead is Paul, Bea's husband.
As the title suggests, the newlywed couple is on their honeymoon, and their intended destination is a small town located near a lake. Here, however, the dream of spending romantic moments disappears, leaving room only for terror. Bea in fact begins to show strange signs of sleepwalking from the very beginning, prompting her to wander into the woods at night. Her husband, however, does not believe that it is only the sleep disorder.
The screenplay of Honeymoon is edited by director Leigh Janiak herself together with Phil Graziadei. In the cast, in addition to the two actors mentioned above, are: Ben Huber and Hanna Brown.
