In the field of film, we are back again to talk about sleep paralysis, so after the extraordinary French film Horsehead by Romain Basset (review here), we will once again find this annoying sleeping disorder in Echoes (USA - 2014), primo lungometraggio di Nils Timm il quale si è occupato anche della sceneggiatura.
Echoes is a horror film that sets out to explore all the phenomena of hypnagogic paralysis, satisfying not only lovers of the genre but all those who are fascinated by the dream world and all related phenomena such as precisely the state of paralysis.
Anna Parker (Kate French) is a young writer devastated by terrifying visions induced by her frequent experiences of sleep paralysis. With her boyfriend she reaches an isolated house hoping that the tranquility of the place will awaken her creative vein. The terrible dream experiences recur during sleep but now, a mysterious and frightening figure also appears in the terrifying hypnagogic visions. The young woman will begin to believe that she has gone mad.
