Veronica (2018)

Earlier today, Netflix announced Sister Death, the prequel to Veronica, Spanish horror film directed by Paco Plaza (The Full Moon Murders, REC) and released on the streaming service in 2018.
Sister Death will focus on the character Hermana Muerte, played by Consuelo Trujillo in Veronica. It was directed by Paco Plaza on a screenplay by Jorge Guerricaechevarria.
Instead, Aria Bedmar, Almudena Amor and Maru Valdivielso are confirmed in the cast.

Plot of Sister Death: In postwar Spain, Narcisa (Bedmar), a novice with supernatural powers arrives at an old convent used as a girls' school to become a teacher. As the days go by, strange events and increasingly disturbing situations will begin to haunt her, leading her to unravel the horrible secrets about the convent.

The 2018 film instead features Veronica (Sandra Escacena), a teenager who is possessed by an evil supernatural force. The girl lives in Madrid and, after the death of her father, cares for her younger brother and sister, while her mother is busy at work trying to secure a better future for her children. One day, while the rest of the class watches a solar eclipse, Veronica and two of her friends descend into the basement of the institute and use a Ouija board to invoke the spirit of the girl's father. Unfortunately, the ritual is abruptly interrupted, and the dark presence that was released during the séance will begin to haunt Veronica with ominous outcomes.

We remember you that Veronica is inspired by the true events of the 1991 Vallecas case in which Estefanía Gutiérrez Lázaro died mysteriously after using a ouija board.
