silent_hill_3dSILENT CIAK - Yesterday, March 7, the filming of Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, the second live action feature film dedicated to the successful horror video game series Silent Hill. This is not really a sequel to the Silent Hill directed by Christophe Gans in 2006, but of a new "stand alone" misadventure that will straddle the real and demonic worlds in the foggy town of Silent Hill. Here is the explanatory statement officially confirming what was said and introducing the project.

"Los Angeles, California - March 7, 2011: Davis Film producers Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody have announced that hopefuls Adelaide Clemens (X-Men The Origins: Wolverine, Vampire, Camilla Dickinson, Wasted On The Young, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Kit Harington (the upcoming HBO series Game Of Thrones) will star in Silent Hill: revelation 3D. filming of the movie began today in Toronto under the direction of Michael J. Basset (Solomon Kane, Deathwatch). International distribution will be handled by Lionsgate.

Hadida and Carmody recently produced Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D starring Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller. Past collaborations include Resident Evil: Apocalypse and the first cinematic Silent Hill".

Still taking advantage of the statement released to announce the start of filming of Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, we recall the plot of the film.

"Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is based on KONAMI's acclaimed survival horror video game and is a sequel to Hadida and Carmody's first Silent Hill directed by Christophe Gans. For years, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father have been forced to run away, constantly pursued by dangerous forces she does not fully understand. As her 18th birthday arrives, tried by terrifying nightmares and her father's disappearance, Heather discovers that she is not who she always thought she was. ça revelation will take her deep into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever".

Fans of the video game series of Silent Hill will surely have found numerous similarities between the plot of Revelation And the survival horror one Silent Hill 3, but we cannot yet say for sure whether the film transposes as far as possible the play of the Konami on the big screen or whether it will simply "play" with the characters and settings to tell a completely new story.
