Made in digital animation and starring rag dolls, Sick Sock Monsters from Outer Space is an old-style sci-fi with tragic components. The film is produced and directed by Alberto Genovese while the screenplay is by Massimo Vavassori, the screenwriter of The Perfect Husband and Alcoholic (movie review), both directed by Lucas Pavetto.
Eddy Endolf a.k.a. Marco Antonio Andolfi, performer and director of the cult trash horror film The cross from the seven stones, è l'unico attore in carne e ossa del film di Genovese. Il resto del cast infatti è composto da Sock Monsters that is, puppets made from recycled materials such as rags, old socks, bottle caps, etc.
The soundtrack, by Antony Coia (Virus: Extreme Contamination), mixes, in keeping with the film, classic sci-fi orchestral sounds with electronics. The film also features pieces by Malmignatta, Male Misandria and The Piano Machine.
Trama: il Capitano Pixws e il suo sgangherato equipaggio sono in viaggio nello spazio sull'astronave Cargo. La crew spaziale ha una missione da compiere per ordine di Re Grigorio (Eddy Endolf): consegnare uno stock di docce abbronzanti in onore del martire Efisio Masciago. La compagnia interstellare di ex rocker sballati affronterà l’avventura più importante e frizzante della sua vita.
Sick Sock Monsters from Outer Space è stato selezione Miglior Film al Fantafestival (2015), Miglior Film categoria Weird & Wrong al Broken Knuckle Film Festival (2015) e selezione Miglior Film allo Sci-Fi London (2016) e all'Optical Theatre Festival (2016).
