It is official news of the return of Tales from the Crypt. There have been rumors for a couple of days that director M. Night Shyamalan (The sixth sense, Signs, The Visit) is involved in the return of the popular anthology TV series Tales From the Crypt - Tales from the Crypt, mandata in onda dall'emittente HBO dal 1989 al 1996 e da noi trasmessa in TV da Italia1 con il titolo "Midnight Tales". La nuova serie Tales from the Crypt, commissionata al regista dall’emittente statunitense via cavo TNT, sarà però priva della presenza del "Guardiano della cripta" ovvero Zio Tibia, in quanto HBO ne detiene i diritti.
Today's official news concerns the confirmation of such a project by Shyamalan himself on Twitter, who adds that the character who will introduce the individual episodes will be macabre, dark and still similar to Uncle Tibia. Indeed, there is talk of an old man, wearing a hood and cane, sitting by a fireplace. It is not yet known whether John Kassir, the voice actor of the original Crypt Keeper, will again voice this character.
TNT plans a weekly two-hour horror night in which completely new stories (to be determined whether shorts or features) will be programmed that will draw on the dark and grotesque atmosphere of EC Comics from which the HBO series was also inspired.
M. Night Shyamalan is due multiple roles, and in fact in addition to supervising and producing the series along with Ashwin Rajan, he will direct some episodes, including most likely the pilot.
